It can be fun to share the experience of sampling
malt whisky by having a tasting session
with friends. You can compare notes on the different flavours
and aromas you detect and on
how you rate the whisky(or whiskies) overall. Together you can
compile your own tasting
notes.
Preparations are simple. Cover the table with a
white cloth to highlight the colour of each
whisky. Have water on hand to refresh the mouth and some dry,
crusty bread, oatcakes or
plain crackers to cleanse the palate. For diluting the spirit
you need a bottle or two of still
spring water, preferably from the Scottish Highlands.
Then let the sampling begin.
