Here are some of the finest malt bars in the area
you may like to consider: If you fancy popping into a local malt
whisky bar or two (and why wouldn't you!), you might like to try
the following.

The Mash Tun - Aberlour
Not so much a whisky bar (although they have
some very interesting examples, notably the Aberlour 1972), just
a great local bar - good beer, excellent bar food, friendly staff.
A must if you are visiting the Aberlour Distillery.
Charles MacLean, whisky writer
There are over 60 single malts available plus
some stunning beers. It's not unusual to find a dozen different
Aberlours available in this excellent pub.

The Quaich Bar - Craigellachie Hotel
At the heart of whisky country "The Craig"
is justifiably famous for its whisky bar, The Quaich, where you
can rely on meeting enthusiasts and people in the trade comparing
notes on samples from a list of 410 malts.
Charles MacLean
Simply unparalleled in terms of the range
of malts available. If you find yourself in malt whisky's heartland,
this is the ideal place for a dram or three.

The Archiestown Hotel - Archiestown
The Archiestown Hotel, close to my home in
Speyside and only a few miles from the Aberlour Distillery, offers
an excellent range of Speyside Malts, including several versions
of Aberlour, and some from elsewhere in Scotland. You will be
warmly welcomed by the owners, Philip and Roz Lewis, and their
team. Savour a dram beside the open fire in the comfortable sitting
room and listen to the exploits of those who have spent their
day fishing on the Spey, who comprise the majority of the hotel's
residents. The hotel's other strength is its Bistro which features
delicious, fresh local produce, well cooked and served.

The Grouse Inn - Huntly
A remote, roadside pub on a minor road connecting
Speyside to Deeside with a large Aberdonian restaurant (plain
fare, huge portions) where the owner challenges you to mention
a whisky he has not got. He has no idea how many he owns - certainly
measured in thousands, most of them sealed and not for drinking.
