In the woods around Aberlour the trees are radiantly
cloaked in red and gold, lighting up the countryside in a spectacular
display of colour.
On the slopes of Ben Rinnes the heather is "past
the purple", another seasonal sign, and the rocky summit
of the mountain drifts in and out of an autumnal mist.
It's autumn at the Aberlour Distillery too. With
the barley harvest in, samples of the grain are closely inspected
for next year's whisky production. Less interested in the barley
than in any nuts it can find is the distillery's resident red
squirrel, busy stock-piling for the winter.
Autumn is a great time to visit Aberlour. There
is an exciting range of sporting activities to pursue, sights
to see, places to explore. And in the evening, as darkness settles
over the land, what better way is there to mull over the day's
experiences than with a glowing dram or two of Aberlour Single
Malt?
